Excellent condition Vintage Coro Pendant.
This pendant is a gold star with center red medallion, gold script on green enamel, and has the words of the motto. This pendant is to resemble the Shefkat Nishani medal.
The Shefkat Nishani is the order of charity/tenderness order.
The Motto is; Humanity, Assistance, Patriotism.”
The original medal was created in 1878 by Sultan Abdulhamid 2nd. It was an honorary medal given to women for their heroism, sacrifice, helping the needy and nursing the sick & wounded. This was awarded at the end of the Ottoman Empire to both Turkish citizens and foreigners. The award relates to the Austrian – Turkish war.
