Tiffany & Co Washington Opera Placido Domingo Gala 1996 Porcelain Trinket Box

A vintage porcelain trinket box designed by Tiffany and Co, commissioned by the Washington Opera as a commemorative piece for the Gala held for Placido Domingo in 1996.

A bust of Placido is rendered in gold on the lid, while a description in gold lettering on a green band rings the box, saying: “To Welcome Placido to Washington. The Domingo Gala. March 10, 1996.”

A rare box for the Opera lover to use as a catch-all for what-nots, or as a jewelry box for treasured pieces.

It is marked the bottom: ‘Designed by Tiffany and Co exclusively for The Washington Opera” Made in Japan.

Size: 4″ diameter x 2″ high with lid.

Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or crazing. Please forgive the flash glare.
